Ankh Necklace in Sterling Silver on a Silk Cord, Olive Branch Necklace, Cross Necklace
The Ankh or key of life is an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol used in Egyptian art and writing to represent the word for "life" and, by extension, as a symbol of life itself. The ankh has a cross shape but with a teardrop-shaped loop in place of a vertical upper bar. It was especially commonly held in the hands of ancient Egyptian deities, or being given by them to the pharaoh, to represent their power to sustain life and to revive human souls in the afterlife.
I used recycled Sterling Silver to form this iconic symbol from a real Olive Branch providing a design with even more symbolic meanings.
A simple, sky-blue Silk Cord slips through the Sterling Silver Beaded Bail allowing you to wear this from any length up to 28" by simply knotting the ends.
Wear this ancient talisman necklace all by itself or layered with other necklaces from our Woods and Willow collections or in your personal treasure trove!
