Our lives might be halted, but nature doesn't skip a beat! Every spring, my faithful Lilac bush produces the most beautiful, fragrant, violet Lilacs you can imagine! This Woods and Willow springtime addition is a nod to this beautiful flower. Lilacs have rich symbolism because they represent the emotions of early love in that magical time of growing romance!
I love working with Precious Metal Clay because leaves and flower buds' characteristics are captured precisely in this medium. I especially love molding the leaves in my fingertips as I try to recreate how these small leaves grow from the Lilac branches. This clay, when fired in my kiln for hours, transcends into solid, Sterling Silver.
I have a trio of the smallest leaves and arranged a small flower bud on top. The Sterling Silver chain is heavily oxidized which gives a nice contrast to the high polish of the Sterling pendant. The flower buds are accented in 22kt Genuine Gold for a stunning two-toned effect.
The pendant itself is almost an inch wide and 3/4" long and the chain glides effortlessly from a bail on the back of the charm. I didn't want anything to obstruct the beauty of these leaves!
The photos depict this necklace at 18 inches, however, I love to offer versatility with my jewelry, so please choose any length you want from the variation menu.
